About Swiyyah
This website and subsequent business affiliate Swiyyah Enterprises is dedicated in the loving memory of my older brother Jameel O. Muhammad (aka “Mr. J. Black”) an artist, musician, and potential star who left this earth before his time. Jameel dreamed of stardom and possessed the unique talent and drive to succeed. However, this abruptly ended when he decided to take his own life. This sudden and tragic loss was a severe blow to me and my family. Perhaps this personal tragedy is my inspiration for creating Swiyyah Enterprises and my novel “Don’t Call Me Crazy! I’m Just in Love”.
As President and CEO of Swiyyah Enterprises I sincerely hope to inspire everyone to live out their dreams regardless of negatively encountered obstacles. I encourage individuals to live and breathe their dreams of fruitful hopes, and wishes. It is my belief that the active process of living one’s true dream will result in a tremendously successful journey therewith. Our goal at Swiyyah Enterprises is one of encouragement and community involvement for all who actively choose to pursue a career in the always difficult and often taxing entertainment industry.
I attended the University of South FL and graduated May 2001 with my BA in Psychology. I later went on to work for several non-profit agency’s. Unhappy with the way the therapist treated the clients, I stopped working in the field of psychology. I then went on to studying acting and TV Producing becoming certified as a TV Producer. My show is called “Living My Dreams,” and it aired worldwide at www.speakuptampabay.org and in Tampa Bright House channel 950, 949, Verizon channel 30, 36, and Comcast channel 20. I featured interviews with artist and community leaders.
There’s an old Chinese proverb that states: “The journey of a thousand miles starts with one step forward.”
I provide presentations for the community on the awareness of mental illness. I provide the warning signs of mental illness, I encourage the community to take medication, and I motivate people to live out their dreams regardless of the disability. I have been diagnosed with the the most debilitating mental disorders known in mental health: paranoid schizophrenia, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, and anxiety disorder. With medication I’ve been able to remain stable for four years. If I can do it, you can do it! If you want me to provide a presentation and reading for your community email me at swiyyahnm@yahoo.com Thanks.
Do you know anyone living with a mental illness? Show them this DVD to encourage them to live out their dreams regardless of the disability. Now on sale for 10.00.
